City of St. George

Lorraine Beaman retired in 2023 after 40 years of service as a laboratory technician at the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Honey Bee Breeding, Research & Physiology Laboratory. As such, she participated in diverse array of duties from beekeeping & experimental field work to molecular DNA laboratory research and in many diverse administrative assignments from laboratory COVID pandemic manager to editorial assistant for a professional journal. Originally from West Feliciana, she has lived in St. George since graduating from LSU, first in Village St. George and then in Shenandoah where her husband grew up. She has been married to Allen for 34 years and raised 3 boys and 1 girl. They are members of the Cornerstone Church of Christ and enjoy spending time with their 3 grandchildren.
