Dustin Yates, Mayor of St. George

A Legacy of Service
Mayor Dustin Yates was born and raised in New Orleans. He attended Jesuit High School, where he graduated before continuing his education at the University of New Orleans. In 2002, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Following graduation, he taught and coached in the public school system for four years before entering the fire service with the St. George Fire Department.
Mayor Yates has been serving with the St. George Fire Department since 2006, where he has held the positions of Firefighter/Operator, Lieutenant, and Chief Administrative Officer. He continued his professional education by earning an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and later graduated from the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Maryland. He has been actively involved with the City of St. George since the original petition drive in 2013.
Mayor Yates is married to his wife, Allison, and together they have two children. The family are parishioners at St. George Catholic Church.
