Meet Matt Vaughn-Zyjewski, Senior Program Director for the City of St. George.

Since the City’s inception, Matt has played a key role in building the organization from the ground up, developing the staffing structure and composition of City services to ensure residents receive efficient, responsive, and high-quality local government. In his role, he works closely with elected officials, community stakeholders, and the local business community to support strategic initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and help guide the City’s continued growth.

Matt is committed to creating innovative, effective local government solutions that enhance quality of life and position St. George for long-term success.

Meet Scot Byrd, Program Director for Municipal Services for the City of St. George.

Scot brings more than 40 years of experience in finance, sales management, economic development, architecture, and local government leadership. Before joining the City of St. George, he served as Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Gonzales and held leadership roles with BBI Architects, economic development organizations, and Snap-on Tools.

Today, Scot works alongside department heads across administration, finance, public works, planning, permitting, code enforcement, and emergency preparedness to help ensure residents receive high-quality public services.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Scot and his wife, Millie, have been married for 44 years. Together they have two children and four granddaughters. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, and spending time with family.
